Global Development Director
Tom takes on a hefty workload being at the Head of Sales and Marketing for Bear Creek Winery. Under his belt is thirty-four years of successful participation in cross-national business development with broad experience in international sales strategies, contract negotiations, relationship building, product development, and project management.
Recognized for excellent communication, and interpersonal skills as well as customer orientation in cross-culture environments. Tom is also fluent in Japanese, Norwegian, and English languages. Experienced international traveler with stamina and work ethic to meet the demands of stakeholders. Tom enjoys the challenges and opportunities of exploring and opening new markets while adding value to people.
Tom Rappé entered the wine business in 1995 and began developing the international business for Constellation Brands, then Canandaigua Wine Company, as the Director of International Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific. After 10 years with CBrands, he took over another project for a wine industry packaging company based in Seattle. Then in 2006 Tom joined the Kautz family and their operations looking after Global Business Development for Bear Creek Winery.
On a personal note, he has been making wine on a micro-scale for a few years now with his first vintage being 2016. He says: “I have always had passion for wines, ranging from marketing branded programs all the way to growing grapes and everything in between.”
